Join us for a relaxing, educational event at Weir Meadow Nursery, a wholesale only nursery in Wayland, MA. This nursery specializes in shade perennials, select groundcovers, reblooming daylilies, and native plants.
Tour Description
Host: Kurt Tramposch, Owner, Weir Meadow Nursery, Wayland, MA
Tucked away in a bend of the Sudbury River is a gem of a wholesale shade plant grower. Kurt Tramposch, specialty nursery owner and our host, has 34 years of experience supplying designers, contractors, garden centers and institutions throughout the Northeast — including some famous garden spots. Ask our expert about the choicest varieties of hardy shade perennials, hostas, ground covers, and native plants including ferns. Would you like to know which hosta varieties slugs like least? Come find out.
Kurt prides himself in growing sustainably and organically. He can discuss his growing practices – as well as some key enthusiasms such as green roofs and sustainable design.
Come prepared to shop, if you like. We’ll get a Weir Meadow plant list out to you before the program, and you can come prepared to pick up an order.
You will have time for networking, a picnic, AND a tail-gate plant exchange. So bring your lunch or a goodie to share, and load up the car with interesting or useful plants.
Bring your canoe and spend the rest of the afternoon on the lovely Sudbury River.

Directions
Weir Meadow is near the intersection of Routes 117 and 126 in Wayland.
From Route 2 or 117: go south on 126 for .3 miles past 117, then turn
right on Farrar. Shortly, take the right fork onto Oxbow. Soon, make a
right on Old Oxbow, then look for the small sign for Weir Meadow
Nursery. Turn right onto the dirt road and keep following the signs.
From the south: Go north on Route 126 from Wayland Center. In 2.4
miles, turn left onto Sherman Bridge. In .3 mile, turn right on Oxbow
road. Soon, make a left onto Old Oxbow, and look for the small sign
for Weir Meadow Nursery. Turn left onto the dirt road and keep
following the signs.
FYI: Old Oxbow Road is a loop road off of Oxbow.
